VNRE - According to the final report on the overall planning of the Long Thanh International Airport has been submitted by the Southern Airports Corporation (investors) to the Ministry of Transport, to build the first phase (2018-2020) of airport, preliminary estimates need more than 6 billion dollars (not including the cost of clearance and resettlement).

As planned, phase 1 consists of two parallel runways (each long 4.000m) and the station serving 25 million passengers, 1.2 million tons of cargo each year. Simultaneously, the airport city will be developed with the airport terminal, aviation industrial, aviation academy. Phase 2 (2020-2035) to build third runway and terminals serving 52 million passengers, 1.5 million tons of cargo each year. Phase 3 (2030-2035) will move all commercial aviation operating from Tan Son Nhat to Long Thanh.
