» » Goldman Sachs Asset Management Fund Invests in Ho Chi Minh City Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company

VNRE - 21 November 2010, Ho Chi Minh City Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company (HoSE: CII) announced today that it had signed an investment agreement with Goldman Sachs Investment Partners, a fund managed on behalf of Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management is the asset management arm of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc, which manages USD802 billion as of June 30, 2010. CII will issue convertible bonds with a total value of USD25 million to Goldman Sachs Investment Partners to finance its investment projects. The Company is seeking shareholder approval for an additional USD15 million investment from Goldman Sachs Investment Partners. Thien Viet Securities (TVS) is the financial advisor to CII in this transaction.

CII will also work with the Goldman Sachs fund in areas including strategy development and subsequent overseas fund raising. The partnership is a milestone for CII which is expected to strengthen CII’s capability to access major infrastructure projects of Vietnam as well as to bring to CII valuable opportunities to tap more funding sources from the World capital market.
