Keppel Land has entered into a joint venture to develop a residential township on a 509-ha site in the fast growing Dong Nai Province, located just 28 km to the northeast of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC).
Leveraging the two-km frontage to the Dong Nai River, the vision for the site is that of a waterfront residential township comprising about 14,000 homes.
Targeted at the middle to upper-middle home buyers, the waterfront homes together with supporting commercial and public amenities will have a potential gross floor area of about 28 million sf. The first phase of the development is expected to be launched in 2010.
The Dong Nai Township development is located next to District 9, where HCMC’s Hi-Tech Park, home to Intel’s new US$1 billion facility, is currently being developed. It is only a 45-minute drive from HCMC’s Central Business District, and just 20 km from the future Long Thanh International Airport, which will eventually replace the existing Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCMC. Construction of Phase 1 of the new airport is expected to commence in end 2007 and be completed by 2011.
