The first phase of the Yen So Park development project, located in Hoang Mai district, is going exactly as scheduled after its recent ground-breaking ceremony. Three out of the five lakes have already been completely de-sludged and are now cleaner. This project was initiated by the Hanoi People’s Committee and funded by the Gamuda Group (Malaysia).
The project’s scale
The project for constructing Yen So park was invested with wholly foreign capital. Its location is in Thanh Tri suburban district. The project’s scheduled scale includes a cultural park of 146 ha; and international hotels, shopping complexes, office towers, and residential areas totaling about 34 ha. After completing the construction of the cultural park, the Gamuda Group will coordinate with the Electromechanic Project One Member State Limited Company to manage the park. The project’s US$711 million of investment capital is allocated as follows: $117 million for park construction, $20 million for site clearance compensation, $545 for constructing hotels, offices for lease and trade centers, and $29 million for electric migration. The cultural park is scheduled for completion by October 2010, other works are expected to complete by 2020.
The Yen So Wastewater Treatment Plant Project following Build-Transfer form (BT) is located in Hoang Mai district with the total area of about 7.5 ha. After completion, the plant will have the capacity of treating 195,000m3 of wastewater per day. Pouring with the estimated investment capital of US$253 million, the project is scheduled to complete by October 2010 to celebrate the 1000th birthday of Thang Long – Hanoi.
