VNRE - The five-star resort Sea Star Suite Saigon Hococ, which will cover nearly three hectares, got off the ground in Bung Rieng Commune, Xuyen Moc District, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province on Saturday.

The resort, consisting of a hotel and luxury apartments, is a joint project between Saigon-Binh Chau-Ho Coc Tourism Joint Stock Company and HCMC Housing Development Real Estate (HD Real) Company with an investment of VND600 billion.

Sea Star Suite Saigon Hococ will have a total of 573 hotel rooms and apartments from 40 to 80 square meters to serve over 1,000 international tourists or groups of MICE (meeting, incentive, convention and exhibition) tourists.

The resort will include water skiing, kayaking and jet skiing, American, European and Asian restaurants, meeting rooms for over 1,000, spas, baby sitting and playgrounds for kids.

Designed and built by Australian architects and engineers, construction is inspired by images of a starfish on white sand. All the rooms overlook the Ho Coc Sea. Furama Hotels and Resorts International, under the World Hotel Corporation, will manage and operate the resort. Furama will also sublet apartments when the owners are away.

With 1.5 kilometers of Ho Coc Beach, 130 kilometers from HCMC and 40 kilometers from the center of Vung Tau, Sea Star Suite is part of the Binh Chau-Ho Coc eco tourism development projects. The resort is scheduled to open in the summer of 2012.
