Hai Duong Province Department of Transport plans to start construction work on improving and upgrading the national highway No 37 from Vinh Bao, Hai Phong to Gia Loc, Hai Duong province.
The National Highway No 37 was the third ring road in the northern region with starting point in Sao Do Town, Hai Duong province that connects with National Highway No 18. In 2006, Ministry of Transport had approved the proposal of local authorities in provinces of Hai Duong and Thai Binh, and Hai Phong City to adjust the extended National Highway No 37 from Chi Linh (Hai Duong) to Diem Dien Port (Thai Binh province).
The National Highway No 37, from Km 23+200 to Km 47+888 or from Vinh Bao to Gia Loc has total length of 24.7 kilometres. The road will be built under standards for delta road level 3 with designed speed of 80 kilometres per hour. There will be two bridges to be constructed, including Chanh bridge and Ram bridge. The project's total investment capital was estimated at 1.254 trillion dong, to be raised from sources of G-bonds and Central State Budget.
The construction work was expected to last from 2010 to 2012. Hai Duong province's Department of Transport was the main investor of this project.
