VNRE - On 10-November, the Prime Minister's Decision approved the expansion of Dung Quat economic zone from 10,300 hectares to 45,332 hectares, to form an open industrial city and national oil refinery center; increase the capacity of Dung Quat oil refinery from 6.5 million tonnes to 10 million tons per year, associated with Dung Quat II deep-water port, Chu Lai international airport.
Dung Quat Industrial City is the economic center of Quang Ngai in the central key economic zone and plays an important role in national defense of Central and Highlands in the future.To date, the Dung Quat Economic Zone had granted investment certificate for 111 projects with total investment of more than 128,000 billion VND, approved investment policy for 28 projects with registered capital of 42,500 billion VND. Of these, 53 projects have been put into production.
