VNRE - Accor is to build the 300-room Pullman Saigon Centre in District 01 on Tran Hung Dao street, a bustling business and entertainment area of Ho Chi Minh City. It will be the business hotel brand's first property in a Vietnamese city.
Originally conceived as the Novotel Saigon Centre, the hotel has been upgraded and is now being developed to Pullman specifications, with full wireless and broadband communications, executive floors and lounges, chill-out zones and first-class meeting facilities as well as signature services such as Pullman Welcomers, IT solutions manager and Pullman event managers. Pullman is Accor's brand geared towards business travellers and meetings. The hotel will feature a 1,500sqm ballroom and meeting facilities, two restaurants, a bar, an outdoor swimming pool and a fitness centre. It is targeted to open in 2013.
"The addition of the Pullman brand in Ho Chi Minh City compliments the existing Accor hotel development in the city and throughout the country, where we are the leading hotel operator with 14 hotels," said Patrick Basset, Accor vice-president of operations for Vietnam, the Philippines, South Korea and Japan. The chain is committed to doubling the number of rooms under management in the country with 12 additional hotels in development.
Pullman Saigon Centre will be the second Pullman hotel to open in Vietnam. The 360-room Pullman Vung Tau, located in the seaside capital city of Ba Ria Province in the south and which is also the petroleum centre of the country, will open in mid-2011.
